Densha ni notte | Take-take-taking the train |
Ano hito no machi e | to that person’s town |
Densha ni notte | Take-take-taking the train |
Ano hito no machi e | to that person’s town |
Nagareru machi o yokome de minagara | While I look at towns go by from the corner of my eyes, |
Sugite iku machi ni wakare o tsugetesa | I announce my farewells to the those that pass |
Nagareru machi o yokome de minagara | While I look at towns go by from the corner of my eyes, |
Sugite iku machi ni wakare o tsugetesa | I announce my farewells to those that pass |
Densha ni notte | Take-take-taking the train |

Densha ga yurete | The train sways |
Watashi wa yume no naka | I am in the midst of a dream |
Nagareru machi ni omoide ga yogitteku | Memories are floating by through the passing towns |
Sugita ano hi wa mou modoranaishi | Since that day that has passed won’t come back anymore |

Densha ga tomatte | The-the-the train comes to a stop |
| Koko wa doko nano ka na? | I wonder where this is? |
Densha ni notte | Take-take-taking the train |
Ano hito no machi e | to that person’s town |

Densha ni notte mo | Even if I take the train, |
Ano hito wa inai | that person is not here |

Notes
There are 2 kanjis used for ‘machi’ and they’re very similar, both meaning town, but the one in the first stanza, 町, refers to smaller towns, whereas the other, 街, refers to bigger cities, e.g. Tokyo, etc.
